Presbyterian Church of Maraland (PCM)

In 2007, a group of people numbering about 1,000 (one thousand) broke from their parent Church i.e. Congregational Church of India Maraland (CCIM) and formed Presbyterian Church of Maraland (PCM) it ended a bitter struggle within CCIM Church.

Congregational Church of India (Maraland) was one with Evangelical Church of Maraland (India) and they used Independent Church of Maraland (ICM) until they broke to two group. Evangelical Church of Maraland (ECM) continues to be the biggest Church among Mara people having about 80% of the population. CCIM retains about 15%. Independent Church of Maraland was originally founded by Rev. & Mrs. R.A Lorrain in 1907. The grand-daughter of pioneer Mission Rev. Lorrain is still alive and is married to Rev. L. Mark, they are attending CCIM Church which is headquartered at the first Mission compound at Saikao (also known as Serkawr) town near Tipa (Tuipang) in South Mizoram.

Presbyterian Church of Maraland are those who broke from CCIM and mostly draw their members from Siaha (Saiha) the Headquarters of Mara Autonomous District Council (MADC).
